The EPA requires companies to be trained in Lead-Safe Work Practices, to work on homes, child care facilities, and schools built prior to 1978. After meeting all the training requirements, companies must apply to become an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm. Companies must also have at least one Lead Certified Renovator on staff to monitor any work being done under the EPA’s RRP rule.
